Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) statement

This directive (2002/95/EC) restricts the use of certain substances deemed hazardous by the EU and used in electrical and electronic components and products.

Black Box Network Services is committed to offering RoHS compliant products to our worldwide client base. In working with our raw materials suppliers, we continue to update our database, qualifying those products that are presently compliant and those that will be in the near future.

The directive requires that, beginning July 1, 2006, new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market does not contain Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+), Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB), or Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE). The maximum concentration levels, by weight per homogeneous material, have been set by the Technical Adaptation Committee (TAC) at 0.01% for Cadmium and 0.1% for the remaining substances.

An exemption until 2010 has been granted for Lead (Pb) in solders for servers, storage, and storage array systems; network infrastructure equipment for switching, signaling, and transmission; and network management for telecommunication.
