10BASE2, 10BASE5, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T... qu’indiquent ces termes ?
Voici la clé du code :
10, 100 ou 1000 en début de code signifie qu’un réseau fonctionne à 10 Mbits/s,100 Mbits/s ou 1 000 Mbits/s.
L’indication BASE signifie que le système utilise un signal en bande de base.
Le chiffre 2 ou 5 en fin de code indique la longueur maximale du câble, en mètres.
La lettre T en fin de code signifie « câble paires torsadées ».
La lettre F en fin de code désigne un câble fibre optique.
L’indication TX en fin de code désigne du 100 Mbits/s sur câble paires torsadées CAT5.
Le suffixe FX signale un débit de 100 Mbits/s sur fibre.
